Each fall, countless people become born again nature lovers as they take time to enjoy the colorful changing leaves. The colors in the leaves, are very much like the colors that make up the moments of our lives. No life is void of color as our emotions and experiences color the tapestry that ultimately becomes our very existence. Red, the color of love and of anger … Green, the color of health and of envy… Yellow, the color of happiness and change… Orange, the color of warmth and enthusiasm… These are the colors of the fall and will always be some of the many colors of life.

The adventurer of a lifetime
As most of the U.S. is dealing with winter and people long for warmer climates, the one constant in any region remains the same… Children. Children are taught various ideologies and learn to like and dislike a multitude of things, but all over the world children wish for the same thing… Adventure. The innocence of childhood is often lost in the mysteries of mischief./strong> because children are merely seeking an opportunity to explore and become anew.
This young man was on the verge of a critical decision (reaching for an extra piece of candy from his mother) that would ultimately provide him a moment of triumph while fostering his adventurous spirit. The faith of a child and the lack of fear therein are the basic building blocks of our world. These thoughts and dreams turn into rational ideas, thoughtful and artistic expressions and develop critical thinking skills.
Take time to remember your inner child longing for a moment of mischief or better yet the chance at a new adventure.
Gratitude
I had the chance to visit Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson and the history lover in me could not miss the chance to do so. While the historical significance of the residence is undeniable, the truth still remains that it was and still is woven into the fabric of a very unfortunate time period in the history of America. As a citizen of this great land, I am pleased to have been able to visit a historical landmark and learn a bit more about it and those who lived there. As a black man I left with something more powerful than fear, anger, anxiety or pride… I left with gratitude!
Thank you to anyone who has made my life easier or better in any way.

My view of what those before me saw.
My moment at Monticello…
The moments in the shadows
There are many different ways to live a life. Some of us live with a 5-year plan, and then there are those who live day to day, but how many of us live in a moment? With the various moments we all experience, our lives are filled with tiny time filled treasures and through photography, I get to not only be selfish and keep my moments, I also get to share them.
Welcome to my journey… See my reflections… Share my moments…
